Flooring

The flooring for student rooms is made from 80% recycled materials and requires no waxing or buffing, which contributes to a higher indoor air quality. Fewer cleaning materials and less water is used to maintain these floors, which saves energy and resources.

Finishes

Low VOC finishes and adhesives were used for flooring, wall paints, and various materials to contribute to a healthy interior environment. Some materials have toxic chemicals that offgas. The designers of Gateway Hall intentionally chose options that would not have harmful effects.
